FAO to Launch New Programs, Workshops for Training of Media Representatives

FAO Assistant Director-General, Regional Representative for Near East and North Africa AbdulHakim Elwaer has announced that FAO will launch new programs and workshops for training of media representatives and Journalists who are specialized in agricultural practices and food safety fields.

FAO's programs and workshops aim to improve agricultural and nutritional practices and food safety measures in Egypt, according to Elwaer.

In his address at the International Year of Fruits and Vegetable Celebration, Elwaer revealed that FAO will hold and organize new workshops on agricultural and nutritional practices and food safety measures in Egypt, adding that the upcoming workshops for training purposes and awareness-raising among journalists, UN bodies, and other governmental institutions is a major focus of the Food Safety related agenda of regional commissions in 2022.

"This approach is meant to exchange views, raise awareness and encourage media institutions to develop curricula media programs that will promote SDGs," he noted.

"Important initiatives from which Egypt had benefited included UN Information Center regular workshops for training in SDGs program with the FAO on sustainable livelihoods," a communication expert at FAO Egypt Rawya Dabi said.
