Renowned film producer Nahed Farid Shawky, the daughter of iconic former couple Farid Shawky and Huda Sultan, has passed away at the age of 72, her daughter-in-law Aya Samaha said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
The late producer's funeral will take place at the Police Mosque in Sheikh Zayed City after the afternoon prayer on Tuesday.
She leaves behind a daughter Nahed El Sebai and a son Mohamed El Sebai, who also work in the showbiz.
Shawky, was born on December 25 1950, she is the owner of her eponymous production company. Her productions include 1998's “Hysteria” starring Ahmed Zaki and Abla Kamel, 2003's “Men Nazret Ein” (From a Glimpse), starring Monza Zaki and Amr Waked.
She has also worked as an executive producer in several TV productions including the 1996 star-studded TV series "Lann A'eish fi Gilbab Aby".
