Family is the first cradle of creativity, where small ideas can grow into powerful community initiatives that foster innovation, skills, and intergenerational cooperation, according to social science experts speaking at the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair.
During a panel titled “Family Creativity and Its Role in Community Development,” organized by the Emirates Sociologists Association, Dr. Osama Abdelbari from the University of Umm Al Quwain and Dr. Enas Khalil Ibrahim from the University of Fujairah highlighted the family’s role in nurturing imagination and adaptability.
Dr. Abdelbari emphasized that creative thinking begins at home, noting that families must provide supportive environments that encourage dialogue and openness. Dr. Ibrahim added that organized family structures—built on communication, shared responsibility, and “home brainstorming sessions”—help raise a generation capable of critical thinking and problem-solving.
The 44th edition of the fair runs until November 16, featuring over 1,200 cultural and artistic events with 250 creators from 66 countries.
