Egypt is preparing for an unprecedented global gathering as more than 40 presidents, kings, and prime ministers are expected to attend the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, according to Mohamed El-Homsany, the official spokesperson for Egypt’s Cabinet.

Speaking in a phone interview with TV host Mohamed Mostafa Sherdy on the “Al-Hayat Al-Youm” program, El-Homsany confirmed that the opening ceremony will be one of the largest and most distinguished international events hosted by Egypt in decades, reflecting the country’s status as a center of global civilization and culture.

He explained that the event will bring together a remarkable number of global leaders, ministers, and senior officials from various countries — a level of participation that underscores Egypt’s growing international influence and the universal significance of its cultural heritage.

El-Homsany highlighted that the United Media Services Company is leading the event’s organization in close coordination with all state agencies, ensuring that the ceremony meets the highest standards of professionalism and excellence. He added that the preparations within the museum and its surrounding area are progressing intensively, with new traffic routes and access systems being developed to facilitate movement during the event.

He emphasized that the ceremony will surpass even the globally acclaimed Royal Mummies Parade, which captivated millions of viewers around the world, noting that this occasion will once again present Egypt’s cultural leadership and historical depth in a way that befits its civilization.
