Exhibition of Traditional Arts Launches in El-Manial Palace Tuesday

The El-Manial Palace Museum is scheduled to hold a temporary exhibition entitled "The Heritage of Our Country" of traditional arts and handicrafts on Tuesday.

The exhibition comes in celebration of Prince Mohammad Ali Tawfiq's 145th birth anniversary, who established the El-Manial Palace to commemorate and honor Islamic arts.

The exhibition will open to the public tomorrow, at 1 p.m. in the private museum courtyard.

Wala Badawy, General Manager of the Manial Palace, said that the exhibition comes within the framework of activating the museum's role in society as an archaeological and cultural institution works to revive the heritage arts by displaying more than 25 traditional and handmade crafts made by Egyptian artists and creators.

She added that the exhibition also bears witness to an important period in Egypt's modern history, as it is distinguished from the rest of the museums of historical palaces by its wonderful architectural design.

It is considered an art school that includes the various elements of Islamic arts. It was built in an Islamic style borrowed from the Fatimid, Mamluk and Ottoman Islamic schools.

It is noteworthy that the Prince Muhammad Ali Manial Palace Museum is one of the most beautiful and important historical museums in Egypt.

The museum expresses an important period in the history of modern Egypt and is unique to its magnificent architectural design which combines the Islamic style with the various artistic schools that passed through the land of Egypt such as the Mamluk school.

It also includes some levant, Moroccan and Andalusian motifs, and the Persian spirit as well as the Ottoman were popular in it. So it is considered a comprehensive art school for various elements of Islamic arts.

Prince Muhammad Ali Pasha Palace consists of several palaces surrounded by an outer wall beginning with the reception hall, clock tower, the Sabil, the mosque, the hunting museum which was recently added in 1963, residence palace was the first palace in the established in 1903, the throne palace, the private museum, and the golden hall, in addition to the wonderful garden surrounding the palace and the unique of Its type.
