Japanese Ambassador to Egypt Masaki Noke participated Wednesday in the 'Ever Given' vessel's sailing ceremony.
The ambassador expressed happiness that the negotiations between the Japanese company "Shui Kesen", which owns the 'Ever Given' and the Suez Canal Authority have reached an agreement that satisfies both parties.
"I would like to express once again my sincere thanks and gratitude to all the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) officials, led by Lieutenant-General Osama Rabie, Head of SCA, for the rescue and early flotation of the 'Ever Given' ship last March," Masaki tweeted.
It is worth mentioning that, The Ever Given, one of the world's largest container ships, that blocked the Suez Canal in March is finally leaving the waterway after Egypt signed a compensation deal with its owners and insurers.
The vessel weighed anchor and headed north towards the Mediterranean escorted by tugs.
