On Thursday, Instituto Cervantes Cairo hosted a press conference to announce the details of the upcoming European Day of Languages in Egypt.
The event is back for its second edition, celebrating Europe’s rich linguistic diversity and fostering cultural exchange between Egypt and European nations.
The event will take place on Thursday, 25 September 2025, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Instituto Cervantes Cairo.
This year’s program highlights the vibrant variety of languages spoken across Europe and beyond, offering Cairo audiences a chance to experience firsthand the benefits of multilingualism.
Visitors can explore cultural stations organized by participating European embassies and institutes, take part in interactive games such as word-matching, listening activities, and quizzes, and enjoy an evening of live musical performances.
Competitions will run throughout the afternoon, with winners announced at 7:30 PM, followed by evening concerts starting at 8:00 PM.
The European Day of Languages has been celebrated across Europe since 2001, aiming to raise awareness about linguistic diversity and promote language learning as a tool for intercultural dialogue.
The event encourages learners of all ages to engage with languages in creative and enjoyable ways.
This year’s celebration in Cairo brings together 16 nations, broadening the linguistic experience.
Key partners include the EU Delegation in Egypt and the European National Institutes Cultural Union (EUNIC) in Egypt, under whose auspices the event is organized.
