A reboot of John Carpenter’s 1981 classic “Escape From New York” is in development at StudioCanal.

The production company announced the news at CinemaCon, the exhibition industry’s annual trade convention that kicked off on Monday in Las Vegas.

StudioCanal confirmed no further details about the new take on “Escape From New York.”

Kurt Russell starred in the original film as former special forces and current federal prisoner Snake Plissken, who will be pardoned if he can rescue the President of the United States after he’s taken hostage.

StudioCanal also announced in the presentation that “Paddington 4″ is in the works. Again, executives shared no other details about the fourth adventure in the children’s franchise.

However, they did note that “world-renowned comedy writers” were hired to pen the screenplay but stopped short of naming names.

Based on the children’s series by British author Michael Bond, “Paddington” follows a lovable bear with a fondness for marmalade.

The first three films — 2014’s “Paddington,” 2017’s “Paddington 2” and 2024’s “Paddington in Peru” — have generated a combined $730 million at the global box office.

StudioCanal develops and fully finances the movies, with Sony handling distribution in select territories, including the United States.

Other projects in the pipeline at StudioCanal are a remake of the 1981 horror film “The Howling,” an adaptation of the best-selling novel “The Midnight Library,” as well as an “original, violent and blisteringly high-stakes thriller” called “The Mannequin,” starring Melissa Leo.

StudioCanal closed the presentation with exclusive clips of upcoming features including “Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom,” Eli Roth’s slasher “Ice Cream Man,” and the dark comedy “Everybody Wants to F*ck Me.”
