Veteran actress and TV presenter, Esaad Younes underwent emergency replacement surgery after being injured in her home on Wednesday.
"Actress and journalist Esaad Younes underwent hip replacement surgery on her right side after falling from the stairs of her home," a statement on Instagram read.
"She was transferred to Dar Al -Fouad Hospital in the 6th of October and supervised by Dr. Omar Suleiman," the statement added.
The acclaimed actress is now in the stage of recovery.
Younes, born on April 12, 1950, worked as a radio host at the Middle East radio station. She made her acting debut in the 1972 film "Unfulfilled Crime" starring Salah Zulfikar.
She became very well known after her role in the 1979 play “Al Dokhool Bel Malabes Al Rasmeya”.
