England and Wales witnessed a new milestone in the novel COVID-19 as deaths linked to the virus became the second-highest-level of the pandemic according to Bloomberg.

The total number of fatalities reached 8,422 since 22 January according to the Office for National Statistics statement on Tuesday.

This is considered as the highest number of deaths since the peak of the first wave.

Until now, the pandemic left behind more than 100,000 deaths in the UK. It also drove the government to impose strict restrictions to control the tragic outbreak of the virus.

However, the number of daily recorded cases is dropping.

London is one of the cities that is witnessing a fierce wave of pandemic; its total death toll is still increasing.

The UK was the first nation in the world which started the COVID-19 vaccination using Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine.
