Emma Stone has again proven herself as a once-in-a-generation star, arguably one of the best actresses currently working.

Stone is a two-time Oscar winner for 2016's "La La Land" and 2023's "Poor Things", and as of the announcement of the 2026 Oscar nominations on Thursday, has earned another nod for Best Lead Actress for her performance in 2025's "Bugonia".

The movie was nominated in a total of four categories, including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay.

With her nomination for "Bugonia", she has also broken an industry record: the youngest woman ever to have garnered seven Oscar nominations.

Stone has been nominated as an actress for "Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)", "La La Land", "The Favourite", "Poor Things", and "Bugonia", as well as for being a producer on "Poor Things" and "Bugonia".

The 37-year-old star is the second-youngest person to get seven Oscar nominations, after only Walt Disney, who reached seven in 1936 at the age of 34.

The milestone was previously held by Meryl Streep, who achieved her seventh nomination in 1988 at 38 years old.

Stone is also the first woman to be nominated twice for acting in and producing the same movie.

Frances McDormand was the first woman to ever get the dual acting/producing nomination for 2020's "Nomadland"

She won Best Lead Actress for the movie, while Chloé Zhao, who is nominated again this year for "Hamnet", won Best Director and the movie itself won Best Picture.

Additionally, Bugonia is Stone's fourth feature film with director Yorgos Lanthimos, after "The Favourite", "Poor Things", and "Kinds of Kindness"; their frequent collaborations, thus, have majorly contributed to Stone's Oscars record.

"The Favourite" and "Poor Things" were also both nominated for Best Picture in their respective years.

For this year's Best Lead Actress award, Stone is nominated alongside Jessie Buckley for "Hamnet", Rose Byrne for "If I Had Legs, I'd Kick You", Kate Hudson for "Song Sung Blue", and Renate Reinsve for "Sentimental Value".

Buckley is seen as the frontrunner, while Byrne won over Stone for the Golden Globe for Best Female Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Drama (Buckley competed in the drama category).
