Emigration Ministry Follows Assault on Egyptian Citizen in Jordan

Nabila Makram Abdel-Shahid, Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Abroad (SEEEA) contacted, this morning , Ambassador Sherif Kamel, the Egyptian ambassador to Jordan, to discuss the aspects of an assault on an Egyptian in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

A number of users of social networking sites "Facebook", traded a video clip showing the attack on an Egyptian citizen by a group of youths there.

Makram confirmed that she is closely following the consequences of the attack on an Egyptian citizen in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, revealing that there is cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities in Jordan to follow up the progress of investigations into that assault.

The Egyptian embassy in Amman, the capital city of Jordan, quickly reacted in dealing with the aggression, being familiar with all its details. Officials of the Egyptian embassy communicated with the beaten citizen, and a lawyer was immediately assigned to defend the right of him in this assault to guarantee his full legal rights.

Details of the assault:

On the other hand, Ambassador Sherif Kamel, the Egyptian ambassador to Jordan, said that the aforementioned attack took place at the end of last September as a result of a previous dispute between the Egyptian citizen and his Jordanian neighbor. Brothers of Jordanian citizen had interfered in this dispute.

The ambassador stressed that the Egyptian embassy in Amman followed up the incident from its onset, and it contact constantly with the Egyptian citizen.

He added that the lawyer, who was assigned by the embassy to defend the right of the Egyptian citizen, was informed of all the details of the incident to follow up with the Jordanian judicial authorities.
