Embassy of India in Cairo to Organize 'Caricature Exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi’

The Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture, Embassy of India, Cairo will organize 'Caricature Exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi’ in collaboration with the Fayoum Caricature Museum and the Egypt Cartoon Platform to celebrate the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 1 October 2024 and spread Gandhiji’s message of ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ (Cleanliness is Service).

 

This caricature exhibition will include 40 caricatures of Gandhiji drawn by artists from 12 countries including India, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Romania, Indonesia, Colombia, Cyprus, Poland, Cuba, Spain, Bosnia, Herzegovina and Egypt.

The exhibition is being coordinated by the artist Fawzy Morsy. Many caricature artists from Egypt including Ahmed Alawi, Farouk Moussa, Adham Lotfy, Hassan Farouk, Khaled Al-Marsafy, Osama Abu Saba, Fawzy Morsy, Hany Abdel Gawad, Marwa Ibrahim, Islam Zaki, Khaled Salah, Amna Saad, Yasmine Gamal and Arkan Al-Zaidi have drawn innovative cartoon of Mahatma Gandhi.

The 'Caricature Exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi’ will be inaugurated by Ambassador of India, H.E. Mr. Ajit Gupte at MACIC premises in Zamalek, on 1 October 2024 at 5:00 pm and will be on display for a week.
