Australian filmmaker Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis" will world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, a month before its theatrical release.
While no specific date has been set for the screening, the festival will take place from May 17 to 28.
The biopic sees Austin Butler as the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll Elvis Presley, Tom Hanks as his manager Colonel Tom Parker, Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla Presley.
It also features Yola as Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Jimmie Rodgers, Kelvin Harrison Jr. as B.B. King, Luke Bracey as Jerry Schilling.
"Elvis" also features Helen Thomson as Presley’s mother, Gladys Presley, and Richard Roxburgh as his father Vernon Presley.
The biopic explores two decades in the life of the legendary singer before his early death in 1977 at the age of 42 and focuses on his complex relationship with his manager.

Luhrmann penned the script with his longtime collaborator Craig Pearce, Jeremy Doner, and Sam Bromell.
“Elvis” marks the filmmaker’s first feature film since “The Great Gatsby” in 2013, which was first announced in April 2014.
In July 2019, Butler was named the movie’s star after a casting process that included Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, and Harry Styles.
“Elvis” began production in early 2020 but was halted after Hanks and his wife, Rita, tested positive for coronavirus, becoming the first celebrities to publicly announce their diagnosis.
Shooting resumed later that year with the release date being pushed back multiple times due to the pandemic.
Producers also include Luhrmann, Catherine Martin, Patrick McCormick, Andrew Mittman, Schuyler Weiss, and Gail Berman, with executive producer Rory Koslow.
“Elvis” will debut in theaters on June 24 through Warner Bros. and will stream 45 days later on HBO Max.
