Is new music from Lebanese superstar Elissa coming soon?
Though the 14th record, which is the follow-up to her latest album "Ana Sekketen," doesn’t have a release date, the pop star is itching to unleash some tune.
Elissa opened up about the journey of the album, saying, "I started recording the album and it's all distributed,".
"I've wanted to release a song for a while now, but the political situation in Lebanon is frightening. When I released my album 'Sahbet Ra'y', the Beirut port explosion happened and I didn't get to make any music videos for it," she recounted.
The superstar added, "Now I'm scared because there's violence every day, and I decided to postpone releasing the song I wanted to drop,".
She concluded, "The album will include a Gulf song, and it will be a mix of Egyptian and Lebanese songs."
Born on October 27, 1972, Elissa has been the highest-selling female Middle Eastern artist since 2005. She sold over 30 million albums worldwide.
In 2005, she made history as the first Lebanese singer to be awarded the World Music Award for Best Selling Middle Eastern Artist, an award that she earned once again in 2006 and 2010.
Elissa is often referred to as “Maliket El Ehsas” (Queen of Emotions) by fans and the media.
She began her artistic journey in 1992 when she won the silver medal in the Lebanese music competition “Studio El Fan”.
The singer’s debut studio album, “Baddy Doub” (I Want to Melt), was released by EMI Music Arabia in 1999.
