Elissa Postpones Album Release in Solidarity with Palestine

Lebanese superstar Elissa is pushing back the release of her highly-anticipated 13th album in solidarity with Palestine.

The recording artist is also working on a new song for the Palestinian people.

The conflict in Gaza, under Israeli bombardment and blockade since October 7, when Hamas initiated Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, a multi-pronged surprise attack that included a barrage of rocket launches and infiltrations into Israel by land, sea, and air.

It said the incursion was in retaliation for the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and growing violence by Israeli settlers.

The Israeli military then launched Operation Swords of Iron against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli occupation has cut off water, food, and electricity for the Palestinians in the strip and rained missiles on Gaza around the clock, destroying hundreds of homes and leaving a million people without shelter.

Over 4,000 people have been killed in Gaza and more than 13,000 injured since the Israel-Hamas conflict began, according to Palestinian authorities.

Amid worldwide condemnation, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for an “immediate humanitarian cease-fire” to ease the “epic human suffering.”
