Lebanese superstar, Elissa has been named in Forbes' 2024 list of "50 Over 50: Europe, Middle East And Africa."
The third annual EMEA list are shaping the future of science, fashion, finance, and even the Catholic Church.
Elissa took to social media to celebrate the news, saying: "Proud and humbled! And definitely not hiding the age 🙃 Thank you @forbes 🙌🏼,".
"I am glad I was chosen from the Middle East and my voice is reaching the whole world," she added.
Born on October 27, 1972, Elissa has been the highest-selling female Middle Eastern artist since 2005. She sold over 30 million albums worldwide.
In 2005, she became the first Lebanese singer to be awarded the World Music Award for Best Selling Middle Eastern Artist, an award that she earned once again in 2006 and 2010.
The singer is often referred to as “Maliket El Ehsas” (Queen of Emotions) by fans and the media.
Elissa’s artistic journey began in 1992 when she won the silver medal in the Lebanese music competition “Studio El Fan”.
The singer’s debut studio album, “Baddy Doub” (I Want to Melt), was released by EMI Music Arabia in 1999.
