Eliahu Hanavi Synagogue Renovation Project Wins ENR Int'l Award

Eliahu Hanavi Synagogue renovation project won the award for the best international project in the category of restoration and rehabilitation projects at the 9th edition of the Engineering News-Record (ENR) Global Competition for the best construction projects.

The renovated synagogue was opened in 2020 to the public and the project was executed by the engineering authority of the Armed Forces, and Arab Contractors corporation.

It included developing and accurate restoring for all wooden seats, gates, artifacts, employed devices in the Jewish religious rituals, windows, and other attachments related to the building.

American magazine Engineering News – Record “ENR” listed four Egyptian projects among winners of the Global Best Projects Juried Competition for the year 2021, with the participation of 21 countries in 18 different fields in the construction and building industry .

The four winning projects were the construction of Bahr Al Baqar Water Reclamation, the renovation and documentation of the Eliyahu Hanavi Synagogue renovation, the establishment of the Cairo Metro Line 3 - Phase 4B, and the founding of the new building of Parliament in the New Administrative Capital.
