El Hag: Al Mansoura Book Fair is Third in Post-Pandemic World

Yesterday, Dakahliyah governor Dr. Ayman Mokhtar opened the new Al Mansoura Book Fair accompanied with the director of the Egyptian Book Organization Dr. Haitham El-Haj Ali.

Mokhtar was gifted a number of General Egyptian Book Organization releases such as “The Stories of the Sons and Land” (Hikayat El Welad wi El Ard).

In the same context, Mokhtar expressed, “the opening of Al Mansoura Book Fair qualified the city to be a capital of culture and creativity of Egypt’s Delta region"

”He also praised the variety of book prices that started from 1 L.E. due to the participation of almost 60 participants.

The event is considered the biggest book fair in Al Mansoura due to its 2000 meters space.

Alongside 53 publishers, a number of Ministry of Culture institutions take part in the event such as

General Egyptian Book Organization, The National Center of Translation, Cultural Development Fund, and General Organization of Cultural Palaces.

Next, Haitham El-Haj added, this book fair is the third to take place after the pandemic.

Encouraging rising authors and supporting them are the main targets of the forthcoming book fairs.

Moreover, he asserted that Al Mansoura Book Fair is going to be organized annually and the event is waiting for the support of Al Mansoura People.

This is the first time for the city to witness such a huge book fair instead of the Egyptian General Book Organization marketplace, Whose suspended 8 years ago.
