As part of its strategic efforts to promote Egypt’s diverse tourism landscape globally, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board (ETPB), is currently participating in two major international exhibitions: Hung Expo in Budapest, Hungary, and the International Fair of Tourism (IFT) in Belgrade, Serbia.

Expanding Footprints in Eastern Europe

Dr. Ahmed Yousry, CEO of the ETPB, emphasized that participation in these fairs is a key pillar of Egypt’s strategy to tap into the growing demand from the Hungarian and Serbian markets.

"These exhibitions provide a vital platform to engage with international tour operators, travel agencies, and industry partners," Dr. Yousry stated. "It allows us to strengthen bilateral ties, exchange expertise, and showcase the latest developments in the Egyptian tourism sector to a global audience."

Highlights from Hung Expo (Budapest)

The Egyptian pavilion at Hung Expo was officially inaugurated by H.E. Ahmed Fahmy, Egypt’s Ambassador to Hungary, alongside a delegation from the ETPB.

Strategic Growth: The ETPB is currently running targeted promotional campaigns in Hungary to highlight Egypt’s multifaceted attractions, ranging from its iconic cultural heritage to its world-class beach tourism—a perennial favorite for Hungarian travelers.

Connectivity: EgyptAir has recently bolstered this growth by launching new direct flights between Cairo and Budapest.

Award-Winning Presence: Reflecting the quality of Egypt’s participation, the Egyptian pavilion was honored with the "Best Design and Permanent Partner" award at the fair.

Scale of Participation: Egypt’s 50-square-meter pavilion hosts a mix of hotels, tourism companies, and three airlines, including EgyptAir. This year’s Hung Expo features over 650 exhibitors from 30 countries, drawing nearly 27,000 industry professionals.

Strengthening Ties at IFT (Belgrade)

In Serbia, the Egyptian pavilion at the International Fair of Tourism was inaugurated by H.E. Ahmed Salama Soliman, Egypt’s Ambassador to Serbia, and Mr. Wael Ibrahim Shehata, Egypt’s Consul General.

Pharaonic Elegance: The 50-square-meter pavilion was designed in an authentic Pharaonic style, capturing the attention of visitors and industry leaders alike.

B2B Engagements: The Egyptian delegation held a series of professional meetings with Serbian tour operators to discuss collaborative marketing plans and future travel packages designed to increase tourist arrivals to Egypt.
