Egypt’s Minister of Culture Receives Qatari Ambassador to Discuss Strengthening Cultural Ties

Dr. Gihan Zaki, Egypt’s Minister of Culture, received Ambassador Jassim bin Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Thani, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Cairo, at the ministry's headquarters today to discuss bilateral cultural cooperation.

Doha International Book Fair Invitation

During the meeting, the Qatari Ambassador delivered an official invitation from Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar’s Minister of Culture, for Dr. Zaki to attend the opening of the 35th Doha International Book Fair.

The fair is scheduled to run from May 14 to May 23. The invitation also includes participation in various cultural activities, most notably the inauguration of the “Sour al-Azbakia” pavilion, which has been designed to replicate Egypt’s historic Al-Azbakia book market.

The discussions highlighted Egypt’s significant presence at the upcoming fair, represented by 71 publishing houses showcasing their latest releases—a contribution highly commended by the Qatari side.
