Egypt’s Immigration Min. Attends BUE Graduation Ceremony

The Egyptian Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram on Saturday attended the graduation ceremony of the colleges of Business Administration and Economics and Political Science at the British University in Egypt (BUE).

The ceremony was also attended by world-class heart surgeon Dr. Magdi Yacoub, and Dr. Farouk El-Baz, the Egyptian space scientist, Geoffrey Adams, the British ambassador to Cairo, and Dr. Sedik Abdel Salam, a representative for the Ministry of Higher Education, in addition to a group of faculty professors and families of graduates’ students.

During her speech, Makram congratulated the graduates, expressing her confidence of their readiness to start their career either inside Egypt or abroad.

She also thanked the university administration for making use of all modern educational methods and human capabilities to prepare an Egyptian graduate able to effectively participate in all development projects within the state.

The minister confirmed that the political leadership gives a strong impetus and pays great attention to youth, pointing to the recent appointment of a number of youth cadres as deputies of new governors.

She also added that President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi always gives opportunities to Egyptian young people to participate in all youth forums and conferences to express their ideas, in a prelude to take responsibility, especially in light of the positive stage witnessing by Egypt.

Makram called on the graduates to do their best in harnessing their powers for the development of Egypt. She also sent a message to the university’s graduates, who will work abroad that they should adhere to their national identity and defend their home land Egypt.

The minister pointed to Sir Magdy Yacoub, who sought to use his knowledge in Egypt through the establishment of a medical centre in Aswan for cardiac patients, in addition to Dr. Farouk El-Baz, who also benefited his compatriots thanks to carrying a number of development projects in Egypt.

She concluded her speech, urging graduates to take advantage of the national mega projects being implemented in Egypt and use their educational background in completing the path of national development, as Egypt's power is only measured by the strength of its youth.
