Minister of Defence and Military Production and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces General Ashraf Salem Zaher attended the final phase of the Air Defence Forces' night-time missile live-fire exercise on Tuesday, in the presence of Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, senior military commanders and the commanders of the Armed Forces' main branches.
During the exercise, Air Defence Forces Commander Lieutenant General Yasser El-Toudy said the force continues to maintain the highest level of combat readiness to carry out its missions under all conditions. He added that the Air Defence Forces are equipped with advanced technologies that enable them to protect Egypt's airspace as part of the Armed Forces' integrated defence system.
The exercise simulated hostile air attacks using multi-range missile systems. The participating units successfully engaged their designated targets with high accuracy during the night-time operation.
The exercise also included troop and equipment movements during both day and night to planned operational areas, as well as field procedures designed to prepare forces for live-fire operations under realistic combat conditions.
At the conclusion of the exercise, Zaher conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to Air Defence personnel, praising their efforts to protect Egypt's airspace. He also commended the professionalism demonstrated during the exercise and affirmed the Armed Forces' commitment to providing the Air Defence Forces with advanced military systems to keep pace with the evolving nature of modern warfare.
