Egypt's Al Anani Inspects Main Exhibition Halls at Grand Egyptian Museum

On Saturday, Khaled Al Anany, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, visited the Grand Egyptian Museum in order to follow up on the executive position and the latest developments in its works.

 

He was accompanied during the visit by Atef Moftah, supervising the project of the Grand Egyptian Museum and the surrounding area, Mostafa Waziri, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Tayeb Abbas, Assistant Minister for Archaeological Affairs at the Museum, Hisham Shaarawy, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kunooz Company for Archaeological Reproductions, and a number of leaders and officials of the Ministry of Tourism, Antiquities and the Museum.

 

The minister began the visit by listening to a detailed explanation from the representatives of the Hassan Allam coalition, which won the operation of services in the museum, during which he was briefed on the latest developments in the works in the visitor services operation area in the museum.

 

In this regard, Al Anani stressed the need to follow up with Moftah to ensure that the restaurants and shops that will be in the service area of the museum are carefully selected and Egyptian-themed to highlight the authentic Egyptian crafts and cuisine and to ensure the best level of services while creating a distinctive experience for the visitor that combines the past, the present and the future.

 

While inspecting the main exhibition halls, the minister continued to install heavy artifacts according to the presented scenario, which includes all periods of ancient Egyptian history by displaying distinctive pieces that tell three main themes: society, property, ancient Egyptian beliefs, and the journey to the other world.

 

Al Anani also checked the latest work of the Khufu Ship Museum, where the installation of its external facades has begun.

 

The museum will display the Khufu Ships with the use of multimedia to tell how the boats of King Khufu were built, their historical and archaeological significance, and the story of their discovery.

 

The minister stressed the need to adhere to the completion of all works at the specified times in preparation for the opening of this great edifice, which the world awaits to become a new tourist attraction in Greater Cairo, which works to attract more tourists.
