Khonshu is the moon god in ancient Egyptian and the son of Amun-Re and Mut. His name is derived from the verb "xns", which means “to cross” or “to travel”, according to an Egyptologist.
The lunar god has several powers, including superhuman strength, regenerative Healing Factor, mortality, and magic manipulation.
Temple of Khonsu is located within the large Precinct of Amun-Re at Karnak, in Luxor. The edifice, originally constructed by Ramesses III, is an example of an almost complete New Kingdom temple.

The gateway of this temple is at the end of the avenue of sphinxes that ran to the Luxor Temple. In Ptolemaic times, Ptolemy III Euergetes constructed a great gateway and enclosure wall for the temple.
Meanwhile, the Egyptologist noted that there is no study or scientific article that proved any relationship between the moon's perpendicularity and the ancient Egyptians’ religion.
Disney has officially launched its services in Egypt on Wednesday, so you can watch the Marvel series “Moon Knight”, starring Oscar Isaac and directed by Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Diab.
In “Moon Knight,” Isaac plays Marc Spector, a former U.S. marine who has dissociative identity disorder (DID) and believes himself to be the human avatar of the Egyptian god Khonshu.
