Egypt's Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry held talks on Sunday with his Madagascar counterpart, Patrick Rajoelina.
This came on the sidelines of the African Union summit meetings, hosted in Addis Ababa.
During their meeting, both ministers discussed ways to enhance bilateral ties between the two countries, as well as important regional and international issues of common interest, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said.
On Saturday, the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, took part in the 35th session of the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa that kicked off earlier today, the Egyptian foreign ministry announced in a statement.
Shoukry headed to Ethiopia on Friday to take part in the two-day summit meetings that will deal with a range of issues.
According to the ministry, the summit will discuss peace and security in the continent as well as facing the consequences of the coronavirus, climate change, and economic integration, among other issues.
The 35th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the AU will be held under the theme ‘Building Resilience in Nutrition and Food Security on the African Continent: Strengthen Agriculture, Accelerate Human Capital, Social and Economic Development.’
