An Egyptian hero truck driver called Ahmed Shabaan turned his rig into a battering ram to stop a fleeing murder suspect who led police on a lengthy pursuit in California.

The chase finally ended in Claremont, Los Angeles County, thanks to Shabaan's efforts, who rammed his rig into the suspect’s vehicle.

Shabaan told CBS Los Angelos that he waited for the murder, and then when he just waited for the right moment then the Egyptian hero blocked the murder and hit him.

“Because if I didn’t stop him, he was going to kill somebody else, and that was my main concern,” Egyptian Shabaan added.

Michael Caleb Reed, 35, was wanted for a murder in Oildale on March 28. He and a female passenger left the San Diego area about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and headed north toward Riverside County, according to NBC Los Angeles.

According to the station, he then led police through streets in the Pomona district, where he drove on the wrong side of the road on Hill Boulevard around 6:20 p.m., causing a truck to collide with a sedan.

Reed then pulled into a 99 Cents Store parking lot, colliding with another car before exiting and driving north, tossing several items from the vehicle in the process.

According to police, both Reed and the woman in his truck were taken into custody, but she was later released.

According to NBC Los Angeles, Reed is suspected of murdering Michael Lewis, 40, and was admitted to a hospital with unexplained injuries.

According to KGET, Reed has a lengthy criminal record that includes convictions for robbery, theft, weapons possession, and DUI.

He was also arrested after a chase in the Bay Area last year that resulted in the injury of a Eureka officer.
