Remittances from Egyptians working abroad continued their strong upward trend, reaching a record $39.2 billion during the first 10 months of the 2025/2026 fiscal year, the Central Bank of Egypt said on Monday.
The bank said remittance inflows increased by 33.2% during the July-April period of 2025/2026, compared with about $29.4 billion during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
The sharp rise reflects continued growth in foreign currency transfers from Egyptians overseas, making remittances one of Egypt’s most important sources of foreign exchange.
On a monthly basis, remittances also recorded a strong increase in April 2026, rising by 44% to about $4.3 billion, compared with nearly $3 billion in April 2025.
The latest figures point to sustained confidence in formal banking channels and come as Egypt continues efforts to strengthen foreign currency inflows and support financial stability.
Remittances from Egyptians abroad play a major role in supporting household income, boosting foreign exchange resources, and contributing to the wider economy.
