Statements by Tourism Expert Happy Helal
Mr. Happy Helal, an Egyptian American tourism expert, gave statements reflecting the community’s deep emotion regarding this monumental edifice.
Helal said: The Grand Egyptian Museum is not merely an archaeological project; it is a civilizational message to the world that Egypt is alive, building, and confidently leading towards the future with faith.
He explained that watching the magnificent opening ceremony via the screens at the Egyptian Embassy made him realize that "Egypt is not a homeland we leave, but a homeland that resides within us no matter how far we go."
Hilal stressed that the atmosphere in the embassy hall was a mixture of pride, veneration, and longing for the homeland, noting that the hall was adorned with Egyptian flags and images of the Pharaohs. He added that this achievement "united Egyptians under one word of pride and restored the deep sense of belonging and eternal reverence for their homeland in every expatriate."
Helal extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, describing him as the "Leader of the Renaissance and Founder of the New Republic," who believed that Egypt deserves to be seen as it is: "Great in its past, prosperous in its present, and brilliant in its future."
Helal concluded his remarks by affirming that the GEM encapsulates thousands of years of civilization and "declares to the world that Egypt remains, as it has always been: the heart of history and the light of humanity."
