Egyptian actress Seham Galal died in the early hours of Tuesday after a severe health crisis. She was 54.
The late actress' funeral is scheduled to be held after the Zuhr (noon) prayer at the Hassan el-Sharbatly Mosque in New Cairo.
The date and location for the solace ceremony have not yet been announced.
Actress Menna Galal shared details of Seham’s passing in a Facebook post, stating that her colleague was urgently hospitalized due to a severe health setback. Following an emergency surgical procedure, Galal was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where she subsequently slipped into a coma and passed away.
Local media sources further elaborated on her final hours, reporting that the acute health crisis prompted her hospitalization. Subsequent medical examinations and tests revealed that she was suffering from a vascular occlusion (blocked blood vessels).
Sources added that Galal underwent a delicate surgical operation in an effort to stabilize her condition. However, her health deteriorated significantly post-surgery, leading to organ failure and her subsequent death at dawn on Tuesday.
The news of her sudden departure sent shockwaves through the artistic community and among her fan base.
Numerous actors, filmmakers, and media personalities expressed their deep sorrow, taking to social media to mourn her passing and fondly recall her artistic contributions and stellar reputation.

The late actress established a strong rapport with audiences through a variety of television dramas and cinematic roles throughout her career.
Born into a family with artistic ties — being a relative of actress Safaa Galal —Seham Galal initially earned a bachelor's degree in tourism and hospitality. She then entered the entertainment industry through commercials and modeling.
Her initial breakthrough in cinema came during the second half of the 1990s, when she was discovered by the late legendary actor Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, who introduced her in the film "El-Nems" (The Ferret).
In 1998, she starred in blockbuster comedy "Sa'edi fe el-Gama'a el-Amrekiya" (A Upper Egyptian at the American University), which marked her definitive launchpad in Egyptian cinema.
On the small screen, she delivered several notable performances, most prominently in hit drama series such as "Sara", "Lel Thrawat Hesabat Okhra" (Wealth Has Other Calculations), and "Hadd el-Sekkeen" (Edge of the Knife).
Throughout her career, Galal appeared in approximately 40 artistic works.
She made her final onscreen appearance in the 2018 TV series "Awalem Khafeya" (Hidden Worlds), starring iconic actor Adel Emam, after which she stepped away from the screen.
She had, however, recently returned into the spotlight through social media.
