EgyptAir decided to cut its A220-300 flight to Moscow and ordered the airplane to come back to Cairo International Airport, the international operator announced in a statement on Wednesday.

The decision was taken when aviation authorities found an anonymous written message that carried threats against the plane passengers on one of its seats.

Therefore, the authorities required the plane return to Cairo immediately for passengers' safety.

The flight was disturbed and returned to its departure point only 22 minutes after taking off.

All passengers safely landed at Cairo International Airport, and all required measures and investigations are in progress.
