The Egyptian pavilion participating in the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR 2026) has been officially awarded the prize for "Best National Pavilion." The exhibition, which kicked off in the Spanish capital, Madrid, on January 21 and concludes today, January 25, recognized Egypt for its artistic and visual excellence.

The award jury highlighted the pavilion’s ability to showcase Egypt’s cultural identity through an innovative and modern lens that seamlessly blends authenticity with contemporary design.

The Award Ceremony

Dr. Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board (ETPB), received the prestigious award from Mr. José Sánchez, Commercial Director of the Spanish International Fairgrounds (IFEMA), during a ceremony held directly at the Egyptian pavilion.

A Strategic Victory for Tourism

Expressing his pride in this achievement, Dr. Ahmed Youssef stated that the award reflects Egypt’s rich visual identity and its enduring power to inspire global travelers. He emphasized that this recognition embodies the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities' strategic efforts to promote Egypt as a diverse and attractive destination, showcasing a wide array of tourism products—from cultural heritage to modern leisure.

"Our goal in designing this pavilion was to highlight Egypt's unique diversity," Dr. Youssef noted. "We are positioning Egypt to be the world's premier destination in terms of the sheer variety of tourism patterns and experiences offered."

Grandeur in Design and Archaeology

The Egyptian presence at FITUR 2026 was marked by its impressive scale and immersive experiences:

The Main Pavilion: Spanned 437 square meters, featuring an additional 80-square-meter double-decker structure.

The Archaeological Replica Museum: A dedicated 418-square-meter space located in the "Fast Track" area near the South Gate. This section featured a simulation of the galleries of the Golden King, Tutankhamun—the icon of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Treasures on Display: Produced by "Konouz Egypt for Archaeological Replicas," the display included masterfully crafted replicas of the King’s Golden Throne, his golden coffin, the world-renowned golden mask, and various other ceremonial artifacts.
