Egypt's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa received Dr. Nuria Sanz, Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Cairo, and her accompanying delegation, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between both sides in the field of archaeological work.
The meeting was attended by Counselor Amr Abdullah, General Supervisor of the General Department of International Relations and Agreements at the ministry.
At the outset of the meeting, the minister welcomed Dr. Sanz and her accompanying delegation, appreciating the existing cooperation between Egypt and UNESCO Regional Office in Cairo, and stressing the ministry's full readiness to enhance joint cooperation.
During the meeting, UNESCO official handed Issa a guide for cultural heritage sites in Egypt, which was prepared in cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and UNESCO.
The meeting also discussed the possibility of using modern technology and digital transformation in preparing a unified electronic archive that includes all photos and information about the international campaign to save the monuments of Nubia, which took place during the sixties of the last century, and which will be collected from all countries that participated in this campaign.
