Egypt to Start Manufacturing Sputnik V Vaccine in Autumn

Egypt will start locally manufacturing the Russian Sputnik V  COVID-19 vaccine this autumn, Sputnik News Agency cited Russia's ambassador to Egypt Georgy Borisenko statements.

He highlighted in an article about Russian-Egyptian ties that Russia is seeking for combining forces with other states to compete against the pandemic.

The Diplomate added that Egypt received several batches from Sputnik V for vaccinating athletes, and armed forces-related persons.

It is expected that the state will locally produce more than 40 million doses per year. In addition, the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) approved the vaccine for emergency use a few months ago.

Egypt will also locally manufacturing various COVID-19 vaccines and treatments such as the Chinese Sinovac vaccine, and Remdesivir COVID-19 treatment.
