In a step intended to preserve its cultural heritage and epic history, Egypt's Ministry of Culture cooperated with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology will launch a new project to digitize Egypt’s cultural heritage.

The ambitious project is estimated to digitally preserve all kinds of Egyptian cultural content in order to make it as accessible as possible to internet users, and educate people from around the world.

The project has already digitized and archived about 110 books, 17 issues of the Contemporary Art magazine, 489 photographs, and 1,710 scientific dissertations from the Academy of Arts as well as 8,461 books and 625 magazines from the General Egyptian Book Authority.

Also, a number of iconic recordings from Cairo Opera House concerts, including audio, video, and images, will be available on the new digital platform.
