Egypt has secured the right to host the third edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Festival in 2026, a move that reflects the country's growing regional and international standing, Industry Minister Khaled Hashem said on Saturday.

In his remarks, Hashem said the festival would provide a platform to bring together African and international partners to promote entrepreneurship, innovation and investment.

The event was attended by government ministers, senior officials, international representatives and entrepreneurs.

Hashem highlighted Egypt's strategic location linking Africa, Europe and the Middle East, as well as its network of trade agreements and developed infrastructure, describing them as key advantages that strengthen the country's position as an investment destination.

He said the government is placing increasing emphasis on supporting startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), viewing them as major drivers of innovation, economic growth and job creation.

Hashem added that Egypt's Industrial Strategy 2030 aims to expand local manufacturing, strengthen SMEs, improve access to financing and integrate businesses into supply chains to enhance competitiveness and boost exports.
