Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi decided on Saturday to suspend schools, universities nationwide for two weeks over coronavirus, according to the presidency's spokesman Bassam Rady.
The decision came during a meeting with Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouli to discuss the state's comprehensive plan to address the outbreak of coronavirus.
The president also decided to allocate EGP 100 billion to finance the implantation of the state's precautionary measures over the deadly-virus outbreak.
Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population announced on Tuesday that 26 patients out of the total confirmed cases have tested negative for the Covid-19 coronavirus after receiving the necessary medical care in the isolation hospital.
It is worth mentioning that, Egypt announced on Monday that another 13 people have tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 93 in the country.
The Egyptian Health Ministry announced on Sunday it reported the first coronavirus death for a German national. He was 60.
The World Health Organization WHO has warned that world countries should do more and prepare for a possible pandemic because of the Coronavirus outbreak.
In an official statement, WHO said that it is too early to announce a pandemic now, but the countries should be in a “phase of preparedness”.
“The epidemic will be declared when the infectious disease is easily transmitted from person to person in many parts of the world,” the statement read.
More cases of the virus, which causes respiratory disease Covid-19, continue to emerge, with outbreaks in South Korea, Italy, and Iran.
The transmission of viruses between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.
They can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose or eyes.
