Upon the directives of President Abdel Fatah El Sisi, the Egyptian Armed Forces sent to the United States on Tuesday a military jet carrying medical equipment, and protective suits amid the country's battle with the coronavirus pandemic.

This comes in line with the historical ties between the two friendly countries, contributing to easing the burden on the US in its current plight, especially amid a severe shortage in medical supplies, medications, and others as death and infections continue to rise.

These supplies came as a continuation of Egypt's pioneering role towards other friendly countries.

On his part, the US ambassador in Egypt Jonathan Cohen thanked, on the behalf of the American government and citizens, the Egyptian President, government, and citizens for their support to the United States during the ongoing crisis.

Earlier this month, the Egyptian Armed Forces had prepared and equipped two military planes carrying quantities of medical supplies, protective suits and disinfection materials provided by Egypt to Italy.
