Egypt sent medical aid to South Sudan, upon the directives of President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi to help the country in its battle against the coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, armed forces spokesman Tamer Al-Refaei said that the medical aid includes medicines, medical equipment, disinfectants, protective suits for medical staff, and large quantities of formula milk.

He added that this aid affirms Egypt’s leading role in Africa and cooperative relations and historical ties connecting Egypt with the continent.
South Sudan has so far registered 347 cases of coronavirus including 6 deaths.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, Egypt has sent several shipments of supplies and medical aid to some of the world’s worst-stricken countries, including China, Italy and the US.
