Within the framework of the continuous efforts exerted by the Egyptian state to repatriate its antiquities that left the country illegally, and in order to protect its cultural heritage and safeguard its cultural identity, the Consulate General of Egypt in Houston, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, has successfully recovered and returned four rare Egyptian artifacts belonging to different historical periods of the ancient Egyptian civilization.

This achievement comes in the context of the Egyptian state’s keenness to protect its historical heritage and preserve its cultural identity. It also reflects the distinguished relations binding Egypt and the United States, as well as the close cooperation aimed at respecting and valuing human cultural heritage.

Among the most prominent repatriated pieces is a granite statue head wearing a royal headdress, dating back to the Eighteenth Dynasty of the New Kingdom era.
