The Egyptian authorities decided to allow the opening of the Rafah border crossing with the Gaza Strip for three days a week, a source at the crossing told Sky News Arabia correspondent.
This decision, according to the source, comes within continuous coordination between the Egyptian authorities and the Palestinian Authority represented by the Palestine Embassy in Cairo.
He pointed out that the Egyptian authorities decided to open the Rafah crossing as of December 8th, while the Palestinian side had been notified to prepare.
Egypt has been opening the crossing on an exceptional basis from time to time, to enable the travel of numbers of Palestinians, especially humanitarian cases.
The Rafah crossing is the only gate for the residents of the Gaza Strip, numbering around two million, to the outside world.
