CAIRO – Egypt will host the international Agro NTRI 2026 competition for the first time, with the Russian House in Cairo organizing the Agricultural Robotics category as part of a global initiative aimed at inspiring young innovators in agricultural technology, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
Launched by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the competition brings together school students from across Egypt to tackle high-tech agricultural challenges that bridge classroom learning with real-world applications while promoting food security and sustainable development.
The Cairo round will take place on August 10, 2026, at the Russian House in Cairo (127 Tahrir Street, Dokki, Giza), followed by the Alexandria round on August 11 at the Russian House in Alexandria (5 Al-Batalsa Street, Bab Sharqi). Both events will begin at 12:00 p.m.
The competition is open to students aged 10 to 17, with parents and guardians welcome to attend. Participants are required to present valid identification upon registration.
The event will be supervised by experts and academics from Stavropol State Agrarian University, where participants will complete a series of practical challenges using specialized agricultural robots. The tasks simulate modern farming operations, including seed planting, crop harvesting, product transportation, livestock care, soil preparation, and navigating an obstacle course designed to test technical and problem-solving skills.
Winners of the Egyptian qualifiers will earn the opportunity to represent the country at the international finals in Moscow from October 7 to 11, 2026, held alongside the Golden Autumn agricultural exhibition. All participants will also receive commemorative gifts from Stavropol State Agrarian University.
The international edition of Agro NTRI 2026 features students from 12 countries competing in three main categories: Agricultural Space Technologies, Agricultural Drones, and Agricultural Robotics.
The competition is supported by the Labinsky Agricultural Complex in Russia's Krasnodar region and is organized by the Innovation Support Foundation, the Association of Educational Institutions for the Agro-Industrial and Fisheries Sectors, and the Center Program System Group, with the backing of the Russian Ministries of Agriculture and Education.
Hosting Agro NTRI in Egypt reflects the growing cooperation between Egypt and Russia in education, science, and innovation. The initiative also provides a valuable platform for discovering and nurturing young talent, encouraging students to develop innovative technological solutions for the future of agriculture and global food security.
