On Wednesday, the Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli held a press conference to review the latest developments regarding the coronavirus pandemic inside Egypt.
The Prime Minister called on all Egyptians to comply with all precautionary and preventive measures set by the health ministry in order to curb the virus outbreak, adding that Egypt is still within the safe limits of coronavirus spread.
The Egyptian Premier extended the nationwide night-time curfew for two weeks as part of measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus with the ban hours will be reduced by one hour, from 8 pm to 6 am. He also extended the travel ban for another two weeks until April 23.
Madbouli pointed out that the state cabinet is periodically following up all updates related to the deadly virus outbreak, anticipating an increase in daily cases of coronavirus during the coming days.
He also hailed the economical reform measures adopted by the state, confirming that they have greatly contributed to decreasing the negative repercussions of coronavirus on Egypt.
The prime minister announced that all coronavirus regulations would be applied for more two weeks until April 23, to curb the virus spread among Egyptians.
He stated that the salaries of the Egyptian ministers will be cut by 20% for months to support irregular employment and Tahya Misr Fund
It is worth mentioning that, Egypt has so far registered 1450, including 94 deaths.
Egypt has recently taken strict precautionary measures to contain the spread of COVID-19, including temporary closure of schools, universities, museums and archaeological sites, reducing employees and sterilizing means of transport, government offices, and tourist attractions.
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a global pandemic as the new virus has rapidly spread to more than 171,000 people from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.
More cases of the virus, which causes respiratory disease COVID-19, continue to emerge, with outbreaks in South Korea, Italy, and Iran.
