Egypt Eases Coronavirus Restrictions, Re-opens Cafes, Clubs

Prime minister, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, held a press conference today, Tuesday, to announce the decisions taken by the Supreme Committee for Managing the Novel Coronavirus Crisis.

Dr. Mustafa Madbouly said that the government is working on opening a number of facilities while preserving the health of citizens.

Madbouly announced that a number of measures have been taken by the government today to reopen restaurants, cafes and clubs, starting from next Saturday, with a capacity of up to 25%.

He pointed out that shops will be allowed to open until 9 pm, restaurants and cafes until 10 pm, while public beaches are still closed.

He added that sporting activities, Egyptian league and sports competitions will be resumed.

The PM stressed the necessity to wear masks in order to protect from the Corona virus.

Places of worship will be opened from next Saturday, June 27, with controls set by the Ministry of Awqaf, for daily prayers only, while weekly prayers are still suspended.
