Egypt, Czech Republic Discuss Strengthening Cooperation in Medical Tourism Sector

Egypt's Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Affairs, Ghada Shalaby, recently hosted a meeting with Ivan Jukl, the Czech Ambassador to Cairo.

The meeting aimed to examine ways to strengthen collaboration between both nations in the field of medical tourism, a sector in which Egypt holds unique and compelling potential.

This engagement is part of the Ministry's plan to leverage insights and expertise from foreign countries that lead in the field of medical tourism.

The Czech Republic, renowned for its progress in this sector, stands as an exemplar. The aim is to understand and incorporate the effective practices and regulations that have contributed to the growth and development of this sector.

This comes in the context of Egypt's strategic shift towards enhancing its health and medical tourism industry, which holds substantial economic significance and potential for increasing the country's foreign exchange revenues.

During the meeting, Shalaby revealed that the Ministry is in the process of developing a comprehensive strategy to promote and refine medical tourism offerings in Egypt. The ambitious plan entails presenting potential international investors with a clear roadmap, illuminating available investment opportunities, and identifying natural areas that could be exploited to augment the medical tourism sector. The ultimate goal is to position Egypt as a front-runner in the global medical tourism landscape.

For his part, the Czech Ambassador stressed the strategic importance of Egypt on an international and regional scale, expressing his country's keenness to enhance mutual cooperation in various sectors, especially tourism and antiquities. It's worth noting that the Czech Republic is a country from which regular tourists originate.
