Egypt Condemns Israeli Attack on Lebanese Army Patrol, Warns of Regional Escalation

Egypt condemned in the strongest terms the brutal Israeli attack that targeted a Lebanese Army patrol, resulting in the killing of two officers and a soldier. 

In a statment, Egypt considered this a dangerous escalation, a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of brotherly Lebanon, and a clear breach of the rules of international law and the provisions of international humanitarian law.

​It also emphasized the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities to halt repeated Israeli attacks on Lebanese territories and to compel Israel to respect Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity. 

Furthermore, It warned that the continuation of this escalation is bound to lead to further tension, chaos, and instability in the region.

​Moreover, Egypt stressed the importance of supporting intensive regional and international diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and preventing the expansion of the conflict, thereby contributing to the enhancement of regional security and stability.

​Egypt also reiterated its categorical rejection of any infringement upon Lebanese national soil and renews its full support for the unity of the Lebanese state, its national institutions, and its territorial integrity. 

In addition, It demanded an immediate and complete Israeli withdrawal from all Lebanese territories, and the comprehensive, non-selective implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, in a manner that achieves security and stability while preserving Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
