Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has denied rumors circulating about Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's desire to resign, describing them as lies spread by enemies.
Zakharova’s denial came on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), where she described Lavrov as a "great diplomat and leader," emphasizing that he works for the benefit of his country and performs his duty in a way that makes "even enemies envious."
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman urged the public "not to submit to enemies" and not to be misled by these false claims, stressing that these rumors do not reflect reality.
It is worth noting that the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is being held from June 3 to 6, with RT serving as a media partner for the forum, which stands as Russia's largest annual economic event.
