Egyptian antiquities workers have removed the sand and dust off of the 37 columns of the Karnak Temple in Luxor Governorate, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities stated on Thursday.
The restoration work of the 37 columns has been completed by an all-Egyptian team and all its original engravings and colors have appeared, the ministry said.
It continued that this project comes within the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities's plan to promote cultural tourism venues, which are cited as the most trending tourist destinations in Egypt.
The ministry noted that the first phase of the project started in July 2022 with the restoration of the 16 columns located in the center of the Great Hypostyle Hall, adding that the rest of the project was later resumed in August.
