In a cultural atmosphere reflecting the depth of Egyptian-Russian relations, the Russian House in Cairo organized the 15th season of the International Young Readers Competition, “Literary Reading,” with the participation of talented students from Cairo, Alexandria, and Hurghada.

Participants presented memorized excerpts from prose works by Russian authors, delivering expressive and creative performances before both the jury and the audience—an experience that enhances confidence and nurtures literary and linguistic skills.

This year’s jury included Denis Bronnikov, Senior Expert at the Federal Agency for International Cooperation in Egypt; Olga Noskova, Director of Mavrix School in Cairo; and journalist and blogger Lilia Fedoseeva. The competition in Egypt was coordinated by Daria Matsuk.

Competition Results

. First Place: Alisa Bednik

. Second Place: Huda Obeida

.  Third Place: Adam Kotb

The winners are set to represent Egypt in the semi-finals, which will be held at the Artek International Children's Center, one of Russia’s most prominent educational and cultural centers for children.

All participants received books by Russian authors provided by the Russian House in Cairo, along with certificates of appreciation. On the sidelines of the competition, an intellectual literary game organized by the “Literary Reading” Foundation engaged contestants and guests alike.

The “Literary Reading” competition is considered one of the largest international contests for young readers. It is organized by the Federal Agency for International Cooperation and includes participation from 35 countries, including Egypt. The competition aims to promote reading, foster interest in Russian and world literature, and support emerging young talents worldwide.
