Egypt's benchmark EGX30 index closed lower at the end of Sunday's trading session, weighed down by selling pressure despite continued foreign investor interest in the market.

The EGX30 declined 0.95% to finish at 53,417 points, while broader market performance remained mixed. The EGX70 Equal Weight Index, which tracks small- and mid-cap stocks, advanced 0.84% to 17,855 points, and the broader EGX100 Equal Weight Index gained 0.47% to close at 23,709 points.

Total market turnover reached approximately EGP 9.6 billion, with the market capitalization of listed companies standing at around EGP 3.9 trillion by the close of trading.

Market breadth reflected the mixed sentiment, as shares of 222 listed companies were traded during the session. Of those, 96 stocks advanced, 112 declined, and 14 closed unchanged.

Investor activity highlighted a divergence in trading patterns across different investor groups. Egyptian investors recorded a net sell position of EGP 110.2 million, while Arab investors posted net sales of EGP 117,200. In contrast, foreign investors emerged as net buyers with purchases totaling EGP 110.4 million, underscoring sustained overseas institutional appetite for Egyptian equities despite weakness in the market's primary index.
